Archaeological Museum in Split

Croatia’s Oldest Museum. If you visit only one museum in Split, make sure it is this one!
Founded in 1820, the Archaeological Museum in Split is the oldest museum in Croatia and home to more than 150,000 artefacts that reveal the rich history of Dalmatia. The museum itself is a destination worth visiting. Located in the wider city centre, just a 10-minute walk from Diocletian’s Palace, the historic building is surrounded by a beautiful lapidarium and peaceful garden, filled with ancient stone monuments, inscriptions and sculptures. It is the perfect place to pause, breathe and escape the crowds of the old town while still immersing yourself in the story of Split.

Poljud Football Stadium 

Ontdekken Poljud Stadion, thuisbasis van Hadjduk Split en een symbool van de passie van de stad voor voetbal. Dit architectonische juweeltje biedt een fascinerende stadiontour— loop door de spelerstunnel, bezoek de trofeeënkamer en leer over de trotse geschiedenis van de club. Voel de passie van de legendarische fanbase van de club, Torcida, de oudste van Europa. Meštrović Gallery & MHAS museum 

Ooit het familiehuis van de belangrijkste Kroatische beeldhouwer, Ivan Meštrović, is het nu een museum gewijd aan zijn kunst en een uniek monument van moderne architectuur in Split. De halte van de hop-on hop-off bus bevindt zich vlakbij de Meštrović Galerie, tegenover een ander museum: het Museum van Kroatische Archeologische Monumenten (MHAS)De busrit gaat vervolgens verder langs de rustigere kant van Split, waarbij de randen van Marjanheuvel Parkbos en Kašjuni-strand. Sint Franciscuskerk

• Duration of one loop: 60 minutes
• Meeting Point: Obala Lazareta 3, 21000, Split
• Not included: Entrance fees for certain sites. However, passengers may receive discounted admission to some attractions through the bus staff.
• Accessibility: Double-decker buses are equipped with a wheelchair ramp. Access to the open-top upper deck requires climbing several steps. Other buses do not have ramps. Wheelchair storage space is available on all buses.
• Dogs on a leash or in a carrier are permitted on the bus
• Weather Preparedness: On open-top buses, passengers are advised to use sun protection on bright days and wear wind-resistant clothing during windy conditions, especially in spring and autumn.

A guided walking tour of Split Old Town is included with every bus line ticket. Led by knowledgeable local guides, this immersive experience brings the city’s rich history and traditions to life during an approximately one-hour tour. The main highlight is Paleis van Diocletianus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose ancient walls have sheltered more than seventeen centuries of continuous urban life and formed the cradle of medieval and modern Split, making it one of the world’s most remarkable living monuments.
