The journey then leads to the ancient city of Salona, once the thriving capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. Surrounded by peaceful landscapes, its remarkable ruins tell the story of emperors, early Christianity, and a civilization that shaped the region for centuries.

Continue to the Olive Museum, where you can discover the rich tradition of olive growing in Dalmatia and learn about the region’s centuries-old connection with olive oil production.

The final stop is the magnificent Klis Fortress, a legendary stronghold famed for its role in Game of Thrones. Perched high above the coast, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of Split, the Adriatic islands, and a sunset that paints the sky in unforgettable shades of gold and crimson.

The orthogonal street plan of this island settlement dates back to the Hellenistic period, and it is renowned for its medieval architecture. Stroll through its labyrinth of narrow stone streets, where Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance buildings stand side by side.

Salona

Step into the remarkable ancient city of Salona, once the flourishing capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. Explore its glorious ruins, including the renowned early Christian site of Manastirine with the Tusculum Museum and the impressive Basilica Urbana. A short walk away lies the magnificent Amphitheatre, once capable of hosting up to 18,000 spectators for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. Discover the fascinating story of one of the Adriatic’s greatest ancient metropolises, where QR codes with augmented reality bring Roman Dalmatia vividly back to life before your eyes.

Olive Museum

A rustic ambient tailored to exhibit the magical world of the Mediterranean.  The (manu)factory, the award-winning olive oil museum, the family estate, the tavern, the concept store, and the tranquil Mediterranean garden are here to introduce you to the region’s richness with all your senses. After you take a tour of the Stella Croatica (manu)factory, where local sweets are handmade, you can stroll through the delightful Mediterranean garden. You will be able to visit the award-winning Olive Oil Museum and learn all about the production of the famed ‘gold of the South’. Learn how traditional foods and essential oils are produced and enjoy the charm of the botanical garden – home to more than several hundred plant species. Visiting the shop, where you will be able to try local delicacies, see how they are made or – if you feel like – purchase natural beauty and culinary products at wholesale prices.

Klis Fortress 

Ascend to historic fortress, a site of strategic importance and breathtaking views. This fortress, also known for its appearance in “Game of Thrones,” offers panoramic vistas of Split and the surrounding islands. Step back in time as you explore its ancient stone walls, which have withstood centuries of battles and sieges. Once a key stronghold against Ottoman invasions, the fortress now stands as a testament to Croatia’s rich and turbulent history.

• Not included: Entrance fees for certain sites. However, passengers may receive discounted admission to some attractions through the bus staff.
• Accessibility: The climb at Klis Fortress is not suitable for wheelchair users. Double-decker buses are equipped with a wheelchair ramp. Access to the open-top upper deck requires climbing several steps. Other buses do not have ramps. Wheelchair storage space is available on all buses.
• Dogs on a leash or in a carrier are permitted on the bus
• Weather Preparedness: On open-top buses, passengers are advised to use sun protection on bright days and wear wind-resistant clothing during windy conditions, especially in spring and autumn.

A guided walking tour of Split Old Town is included with every bus line ticket. Led by knowledgeable local guides, this immersive experience brings the city’s rich history and traditions to life during an approximately one-hour tour. The main highlight is Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose ancient walls have sheltered more than seventeen centuries of continuous urban life and formed the cradle of medieval and modern Split, making it one of the world’s most remarkable living monuments.
