Soparnik is a traditional Dalmatian dish originating from the Poljica region, often considered the precursor to modern pizza. It is a savory pie made with thin dough filled with Swiss chard, garlic, and olive oil, then baked on a hot stone and topped with more olive oil and garlic. Once a humble peasant dish, Soparnik is now a protected cultural heritage food of Croatia, celebrated for its simplicity and rich flavor.
