Next, the bus takes you to Bačvice, Split’s most famous sandy beach. Known for its shallow waters and lively beach bars, Bačvice is a hotspot for both relaxation and the traditional local ball game, Picigin.

Gripe Sport Centre & Maritime Museum

Discover Split’s rich sports heritage, including its hosting of the 1979 Mediterranean Games and its impressive tally of over 80 Olympic medals, a testament to the city’s deep-rooted athletic tradition. Football Stadium “Poljud”

Discover Poljud Stadium, home of Hajduk Split and a symbol of the city’s passion for football. This architectural gem offers a fascinating stadium tour—walk through the players’ tunnel, visit the trophy room, and learn about the proud history of the club. Feel the passion of club’s legendary fan base, Torcida, the oldest in Europe. Before you leave, stop by the fan shop for jerseys, scarves, and souvenirs to take home a piece of Hajduk pride! Please note that the stadium is unavailabele on the match days.

Meštrović Gallery

Once the family home of Croatia’s most important sculptor, Ivan Meštrović, it is now a museum dedicated to his art and a unique monument of modern architecture in Split. The hop-on hop-off bus stop is located near the Meštrović Gallery, in front of another museum—the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments (MHAS). The bus ride then continues along the quieter side of Split, exploring the edges of Marjan Hill Park Forest and Kašjuni Beach. This is followed by Zvončac, a picturesque park area, and nearby Sustipan, once an old cemetery, which offers breathtaking views over the cliffs onto the Adriatic islands.

St Francis Church

The bus then cruises along the scenic West Coast, offering panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and the bustling port, a gateway to the Dalmatian islands. The hop-on hop-off stop is at St. Francis Church, a serene church with a peaceful cloister, nestled at the foot of Veli Varoš, an old neighborhood known for its traditional taverns, or konoba in Croatian. As the tour comes to a close, the bus passes by the National Theatre, a cultural hub that hosts opera, drama, and ballet performances. Its striking yellow neoclassical façade stands in contrast to the massive Venetian fortifications and Marmont Street, the main pedestrian and shopping avenue.
